Course Details
BOSIET & HUET offshore survival training is targeted to personnel those who are new to the offshore oil and gas industry or employed on an Offshore Installation.
Candidates will gain a basic level of understanding and awareness of the hazards that are encountered when working on offshore installations, and how to control and mitigate those hazards. HUET course is by default included in BOSIET and forms a part of BOSIET. However, candidates can also do only HUET course separately.

Course Details
The H2S course is intended for personnel working in an environment that could become contaminated by H2S gas.
Training on the subject of Hydrogen Sulfide, is essential for all oil and gas workers who could be exposed to H2S during the course of their work activities.
This training helps fulfil the training requirements of OSHA 29 CFR 1910 and 1926, ANSI Z390.1, Accepted Practices for Hydrogen Sulfide (H2S) Training Programs, and other regulatory standards.

The H2S course consists of theory and practical on SCBA sets, ELSA (Emergency Life Support Apparatus) and Cascade Breathing System. During the course participants will be able to recognize and accept the hazards associated with Hydrogen Sulphide and it’s effect on humans and to appreciate the value of H2S gas monitoring equipment and be able to identify and use an escape set for the purpose of evacuation.

• Recognize H2S as a highly toxic gas .Types of detector & respiratory equipment.

• Describe the properties of H2S and workplace environments where H2S may be found. 

• Know the possible symptoms of exposure to low concentrations and to higher concentrations 

• Understand that exposure to high concentrations can lead to unconsciousness and death within minutes, or even seconds 

• Identify potential long term effects associated with H2S exposure 

• Provide examples of engineering controls, administrative controls, and PPE that can be used to protect workers from H2S exposure.

• Know how to respond appropriate in a situation involving H2S exposure.

The aims and objectives of the HDA (Helideck Assistant) and HERTM (Helideck Emergency Response Team Member) Training Programme is to equip the delegate with the initial knowledge, understanding and skills required to perform the role of Offshore Helideck Assistant (HDA) safely and effectively.

It is to equip Offshore Helideck Assistants with the knowledge, understanding and skills required to perform an emergency response team member role in offshore helideck and helicopter emergencies and practice responding to a variety of helideck firefighting and non-firefighting emergency scenarios in a training environment.

Target Personnel
The target group for the Offshore HDA and HERTM Programme is personnel who are to be appointed to the role of an Offshore HDA.

• Understand helideck obstacle, hazards associated with offshore helideck operations.

• Understand meteorological requirements for offshore helicopter operations

• Understand how dangerous goods are identified, packaged and labeled according to IATA and ICAO regulations

• Use hand held radios correctly, complying with radio communications protocol.

• Assist HLO with communication checks, checking helideck equipment status, safety nets, security and stowage of helideck equipment.

Course Details
A Combined course of 5 days of Rigging, Slinging & Banks man can be done in two or three-day letting delegates save one day off their training. The lifting operations training is for personnel who supervise or are directly involved in rigging and lifting operations, including crane lifting. This course is aimed to provide candidates with the required knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation and provide them with the skills and techniques use during lifting operations.

Target Personnel
Personnel with a responsibility to carry out rigging and lifting operations and crane lifting operations. The is also beneficial to personnel such as supervisors and HSE advisors.

Course Content RIGGER

MODULE 1 – The role of the Rigger and an Introduction to Lifting Operations

• Explain the role and responsibilities of a rigger
• Identify typical installation/site responsible roles in lifting operations
• List the main health and safety legislation that applies to the rigger
• Explain the relevant parts of Lifting Operations, Lifting Equipment Regulations.
• Identify and list typical hazards associated with rigging and lifting activities & correct manual handling techniques
• Identify the various types of personal protective equipment (PPE) the Rigger would typically use.

MODULE 2 – Rigging and Lifting Operations

• Identify which types of lifting equipment to use for different lifting activities.
• Identify which types of lifting accessories for different lifting activities & how to use the accessories
• Explain the purpose of inspections and ‘thorough’ examinations & risk Assessment
• Correctly and safely position and install lifting equipment prior to starting the lifting operation.
• Explain how adverse environmental factors could affect the safety of the lifting operation
• Explain how to use identification tags, color codes to establish SWL .
• Identify and establish escape routes from the work area.
• Explain and demonstrate best communication methods during lifting activities.
